A Time For Mourning
Posted by Robby
Whacky Nation, the old stomping grounds of EFFin Unsound favorite Lou Guzzo, is closing up shop.
We’re shutting down WhackyNation after 2 1/2 years of operation.
We’ve enjoyed the ability to freely comment and the debate over public policy in the blogosphere.
But we’ve reached the end of our road.
I want to thank all our readers and commentors for their support.
This will be my last post.
They will be missed, or something like that.

Robby, I post-dated the post I just finished up to tomorrow morning. Glad I saw this before clicking publish. This should stay up top for a bit.
What’s funny about the way that site ended is that Ken Mortland was writing a lot of not-so-whacky stuff there recently. I’d be curious to know what caused Gardner to close up shop, but I know that’s something I’m not likely to ever find out.
If this really is the end of Lou Guzzo on the internet, though, it’s a sad day for everyone.

I wouldn’t be to worried about Lou. There is always Louguzzo.com. He has new thoughts up there most every day.

Nice. Although you probably still can’t link to individual posts…no big deal, I guess…

And another media giant goes down. Is there no mercy in this new economy?

How much of this is them losing their day jobs, how much is a lack of private-sector wingnut welfare, and how much is an Armstrong-William’s-esque loss of government money? Irresponsible not to, etc.

I second Lee’s statement. It’s hard to be “Whacky Nation” anymore if you just aren’t whacky.

Plain and simple, Mark Gardener is (was) one of the dumbest conservatives out there. Which is probably why he picked Lou Guzzo to blog for him.
Idiots like these guys will be sorely missed. It’s the smart conservatives America should fear.
